More and more people these days are looking to electric vehicles (EVs) as a greener alternative to gas-guzzling cars. But is the electric car really as green as it’s seen to be? And with EV prices being so high despite government investment and subsidies, what impact will they really have? This infographic takes a look at the costs and environmental impacts of EVs compared with conventional gas-powered cars.
For the purposes of this infographic there are two main types of EVs:
BEV = Battery Electric Vehicle (no gasoline engine)
PHEV = Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (has a gasoline engine and an electric engine)
