In 1948, George Orwell wrote his novel 1984; and, once it was published, it captured the imagination of the reading public. It is actually the author’s horrifying prophecy about the future. In the story, Winston, the protagonist is a low-ranking member of London’s ruling Party in the nation of Oceania. Wherever he goes, even in his own house, Big Brother, the leader of the party who seems to be omniscient, sees his every move in telescreens. To make matters worse, everywhere he looks he sees Big Brother’s face.
What does this story got to do with our infographic; and, our present situation? The above plot could be an exaggerated version of the circumstances, we, as a people, have unwittingly dragged ourselves into. Yes, we want more technological advances, and faster modes of communication; but, in the process, whether we like it or not, we have molded a kind of state resembling 1984's plot.
I urge you to seriously study the infographic published by Wordstream below, and tell me what you think.
