How To Give Your Puppy CPR

If you have a new puppy or are thinking about getting one, knowing how to give them CPR in case of an emergency is very important. You may have certification to perform CPR on humans, but this doesn’t necessary mean that you can also give your puppy CPR. This infographic does a great job of outlining the steps necessary.

The most important thing to note is that you should never call 911 for a pet emergency because they will not respond. Instead, you need to call your veterinarian immediately before you begin resuscitation. Depending on whether or not the puppy is breathing, you may need to provide artificial respiration first.

As long as you follow these steps properly, you shouldn’t cause any additional harm to your puppy. Even though fewer 1 in 10 pets will survive with CPR, it’s still worth a try. As a pet owner, it’s your duty to do all that you can to save your puppy’s live before giving up. Be sure to share this infographic with other puppy owners; it’s sure to come in handy.
